Welcome.

I’m Brittany Deutch, LPC, ATR-BC, a Virginia-based therapist, art therapist, workshop leader and process painter.

For a long time, I went through life pretending like I had it all together, when on the inside, my mind didn’t know how to turn off.

Though this is a continued journey, I am passionate about creating a space for women and LGBTQIA folks to explore those inner parts of themselves that say “I am not enough,” and grow towards loving and healing oneself to the point where they can shout back,

Oh hell yes I am!

My clients struggle as you do. Despite being hardworking, creative, and resilient, life is hard.

When they first come in, they often don’t feel like themselves, feeling less confident and overwhelmed. They feel defeated, no matter how hard they try to fight to keep going in all the different areas of their life.

They struggle with their identity, cry occasionally and often feel undervalued and unappreciated by their partner, family and the world.

They feel unsettled issues from childhood starting to catch up to them, after pushing their feelings aside for so many years in order to just keep going.

Their anxiety, depression and frustration gets in the way of the life they want to live. They aren’t the kind of partner, parent, or friend they want to be. They feel like they’re failing at living a vibrant life and instead are drowning in uncertainty and worry.

Before they came to see me, they feared what would come up if they actually let themselves explore their feelings. They worried sharing would make them weak. And they were pretty certain that if they showed what was underneath the “I can do everything” mask, they would crumble.

Like my clients, you deserve to feel more like yourself, and find calm and joy in your life.

Recognizing your feelings before they overwhelm you and processing all that you have experienced in life, is not out of your reach.

If you want to learn how to be there for others without losing yourself, and live a life that feels authentic to you, I’d love to walk alongside you to help you get there.

Specialties

  • Anxiety

Anxiety often shows up as this constant buzzing that wont go away. It’s the tightness in your chest or the racing thoughts that take you out of the present moment and into the fear of the unknown.

  • Life Transition/Self-Discovery

Navigating this journey called life, with all its twists and turns. Maybe this isn’t how you imagined life to be. Maybe you have a desire to start a new path or maybe you have a yearning to finally meet yourself for the first time.

  • Trauma

    Trauma

Healing from trauma is like piecing together a shattered mirror, reflecting not just the scars but the strength that's emerged from the journey. Together, we can create a space to look at those pieces, find a clarity on how they continue to impact us, and rediscover the beauty that's always been within.

“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
