Therapy for high-achieving women & LGBTQ+ folks in Richmond, VA who are ready to feel calm, connected, and confident—without constantly second-guessing themselves.

For High-Achieving Women and LGBTQ+ Folks in Richmond, VA Who Are Juggling It All (and Starting to Feel Like It’s Too Much)
You’ve worked so hard to build the life you thought you were supposed to have. You’re resilient, dependable, and always there for everyone else. But no matter how much you give, it never feels like enough. You’re stretched thin. Overwhelmed. Running on empty.
As a therapist in Richmond, VA who works with high-achieving women and LGBTQ+ folks, I see this all the time—clients who hold it all together on the outside, but inside feel anxious, disconnected, and exhausted.
You’re managing your career, your family, the never-ending to-do list—but the pressure never lets up. You’re always worrying, second-guessing, and sometimes unsure of who you really are underneath the “I’ve got it all together” mask.
There’s this nagging feeling that you should be handling it better. That you should be more patient, more present, more everything. It’s not that every part of life feels hard—but the parts that matter most—your relationships, your self-worth, your peace of mind—feel heavy.
If you're feeling overwhelmed and need a therapist in Richmond who gets what it's like to always be the one others depend on, you're not alone. Whether it’s anxiety, trauma, or just the weight of constantly holding it all together, therapy for high-achieving women in Richmond can help you reconnect with yourself—without the guilt.

And then, just when you thought you left the past behind, it starts creeping back in. The things you pushed down for so long are resurfacing—especially since becoming a parent. You see echoes of your own childhood in ways you never expected, and it’s getting harder and harder to ignore.
As a trauma therapist in Richmond, I often hear clients describe this exact moment—the way unprocessed pain can quietly shape our day-to-day lives until it no longer stays in the background. The overwhelm, self-doubt, and anxiety begin to block you from the life you actually want.
You don’t just want to get by—you want to feel alive again. To feel steady in your relationships, clear in your decisions, and present in your life. You want to feel like yourself again—without the constant worry or the weight of “doing it all” weighing you down.
The truth is, you don’t have to keep running on empty. It’s possible to let go of the “superwoman” act without everything falling apart. In fact, it’s exactly what will help you rebuild your sense of peace, your clarity, and your joy.
With the support of a compassionate anxiety therapist in Richmond who understands the intersection of identity, trauma, and everyday pressure, healing is possible. Together, we’ll untangle the past and help you come home to yourself—so you can finally feel confident, grounded, and at peace.
If you’re ready to reconnect with who you truly are and stop putting everyone else first at the expense of your own well-being, you’re in the right place.
I work with high-achieving women and LGBTQ+ folks here in Richmond who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or weighed down by the past. Together, we untangle what’s going on underneath it all—so you can feel more grounded, more like yourself, and actually at peace in your own life.

Hi, I’m Brittany! A licensed professional counselor and board-certified art therapist in Richmond, VA. I work with overwhelmed, high-achieving women and LGBTQ+ folks who want to feel more like themselves again—without the pressure to keep it all together.
For a long time, I went through life pretending like I had it all together, when on the inside, my mind didn’t know how to turn off.
Though this is a continued journey, I am passionate about creating a space for women and LGBTQIA folks to explore those inner parts of themselves that say “I am not enough,” and grow towards loving and healing oneself to the point where they can shout back,
“Oh hell yes I am!”

Trauma
Healing from trauma is like piecing together a shattered mirror, reflecting not just the scars but the strength that's emerged from the journey. Together, we can create a space to look at those pieces, find a clarity on how they continue to impact us, and rediscover the beauty that's always been within.
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
